On Thursday, March 27, 2008, Wine Enthusiast Magazine will host its “Toast of the Town” food, wine and music event for the second year at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco. This event, an annual highlight of the New York City, Chicago, and now San Francisco epicurean scene, is a wine and food lover’s dream. The War Memorial Opera House provides a stunning backdrop for this grand event with over 70 domestic and international wine producers and the culinary creations and signature dishes from top Bay Area restaurants accompanied by live jazz.
Doors open for a VIP tasting from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with tickets priced at $185. The larger Grand Tasting follows from 7:00 to 10:00 PM, with tickets priced at $95. Also part of this event is a Silent Auction, with donations from the participating wineries and restaurants, to benefit the San Francisco Food Bank. For both tastings, space is limited and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. For information or to purchase tickets, go to www.wineenthusiast.com/tot08 or call 800-847-5949.
Adam Strum, Editor and Publisher of Wine Enthusiast Magazine, says, “This night captures the essence of our magazine: to entertain and educate people about wines and spirits in a beautiful setting. Due to the enthusiastic response the event received last year, we are excited to return to San Francisco, one of America’s brightest stars on the culinary and wine scene.”
