The "Mary J. Blige & JAY-Z: Heart of the City" tour is the pinnacle of Mary and Jay's long-time collaboration which began in 1996 with the classic "Can't Knock The Hustle." The multi-Grammy award-winning powerhouses are two of the most successful artists of our time whose influence stretch far beyond any musical borders.
This will be JAY-Z's first arena tour since his successful JAY-Z and Friends Tour in 2004 and the first to feature material from his 2006 Kingdom Come album and 2007's critically acclaimed American Gangster album. A multiple Grammy, American Music Award and VMA award winner, JAY-Z has continued to set the bar for all artists and entrepreneurs. Co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, he currently is the president of Rocawear, part owner of the New Jersey Nets and co-owner of the successful 40/40 chain. Most recently, Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter held the title of President of Def Jam Records where he helped guide the careers of superstar artists and multiple Grammy nominees such as Rihanna, Ne-Yo, NAS, Kanye West and Young Jeezy.
A six-time Grammy Award winner, Mary has won more than 25 awards in all, including NAACP Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Awards, BET Awards, MTV's Video Music Awards, Soul Train Awards and more. Over the span of her 15-year career, Mary has blessed us with eight platinum and multi-platinum studio albums, (she released a live album in 1998 and a greatest hits album in 2005 - both to critical acclaim and incredible sales) selling more than 40 million copies worldwide. With every album she has proven that hers is a voice of healing; a voice of reckoning.

Chris Rock is a standup comedian who first rose to national stardom when he appeared on Saturday Night Live in the late '80s and early '90s. The early '90s were Rock's popular heyday, when he frequently appeared in films; he released his first comedy record, Born Suspect, in 1991.
When he left SNL, his popularity dipped, and for much of the mid-'90s, he had difficulty landing movie roles; when he did, no one went to the movies. Rock began concentrating on his standup work again, and by the release of his second album, 1997's Roll with the New, he had become one of the most popular and best-reviewed comedians in America. Like its predecessor, 1999's Bigger & Blacker reached platinum status and furthered Rock's popularity; five years later, Never Scared saw similar success. The comedian then assembled some of his best-known tracks for Cheese and Crackers: The Greatest Bits, which was released in late 2007. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

The world-renowned Kirov Ballet returns to New York for a three-week engagement in April 2008. The season will be presented by Ardani Artists in association with New York City Center. This will be first appearance of the Kirov Ballet and Orchestra at New York City Center.
During its three-week season, the 200-year-old Russian company, under the Artistic Direction of Valery Gergiev and Director of the Ballet Makhar Vaziev, will be performing a wide range of works by the choreographers and artists who have made the Kirov one of the world’s greatest ballet companies, as well as works by contemporary dance makers. The company’s rich classical repertoire includes works by Marius Petipa, Michel Fokine and George Balanchine and more modern works by William Forsythe. The Kirov Ballet – also known as Ballet Company of the Mariinsky Theatre of St. Petersburg, Russia – will bring some of its most acclaimed repertory classics: Petipa’s The Kingdom of Shadows from La Bayadere; Fokine’s Scheherazade and Chopiniana; Gorsky’s The Grand Pas de Deux from Don Quixote; Balanchine’s Rubies (an Excerpt from Jewels) and Ballet Imperial; as well as Forsythe’s Steptext.

By Overwhelming Demand, 2nd Show Just Added on Friday April 11!
Consistently recognized as one of the hottest standup comedians on the scene today, Williams' 2007 tour, Pimp Chronicles Tour, was the second highest grossing comedy act in the country, selling out theatres nationwide. He was also added to the very short list of comedians to earn the honor of performing at Radio City Music Hall; selling out two consecutive days at the venue.
Last winter, Code Black Entertainment released Williams' HBO Special, "Katt Williams: Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1." Taped live in Atlanta, the show featured guest appearances from Cam'Ron, Lil' Jon, Snoop Dogg, Andre 3000, and Anthony Anderson. The highly-anticipated follow up - KATT WILLIAMS: AMERICAN HUSTLE - is now available on DVD. Katt was also featured as one of the cast players on the wildly popular MTV series "Nick Cannon's Wild n' Out".

Playing feel-good rock and R&B music proved successful for the Cockroaches; they even scored a Top Ten hit during the 12 years they spent together. But when the band broke up in 1991, bandmembers Tony Field and Jeff Fatt decided to form a children's band that would prove far more successful than anything they had previously experienced. Calling themselves the Wiggles, Field and Fatt joined forces with Murray Cook (bass) and Greg Page (vocals). All four were qualified preschool teachers and the Wiggles, with their distinctive colorful skivvies, quickly earned a reputation for writing well-crafted children's songs. Children immediately took to their storytelling, singing, and dancing, and such characters as Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, Captain Feathersword, and Wags the Dog helped launch a range of Wiggles merchandise. Their debut album, The Wiggles, sold 70,000 copies, while its single, "Here Comes a Song," sold 35,000 copies alone. The follow-up albums Here Comes a Song (1992), Yummy Yummy (1993), Big Red Car (1995), and Wiggly Wiggly Christmas (1996) also achieved similar success. Also, the Wiggles won two Australian Performing Right Association (APRA) songwriting awards for Best Children's Song of 1994, 1995, and 1996. Big Red Car, Wake Up Jeff!, and Toot Toot! also won Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) Awards for Best Children's Release in 1995, 1996, and 1998, respectively.Videos such as Wiggle Time, Yummy Yummy, and Big Red Car all achieved double-platinum status while the band's fourth video, Wake Up Jeff!, sold over 200,000 copies in 1996. With the release of The Wiggledance in 1997, the Wiggles had sold almost one million videos and their two books, -Let's Wiggle and -Dorothy the Dinosaur's Picture Book, were in multiple editions. The Wiggles released their first film, Dorothy the Dinosaur, in 1997 and have toured New Zealand and the U.K. twice, as well as the U.S. six times. ~ Brendan Swift, All Music Guide
